RECAP: The Daisie Foundation’s 2018 Holiday Outreach

In the past, The Daisie Foundation has surprised over 1200 students and 100 faculty & staff at underserved schools in the Chicago area with holiday cheer, including donated gifts distributed by Santa & Mrs. Clause. In 2018, we doubled our efforts by serving two Chicago public schools in the communities of Englewood and Lawndale/Little Village.

More than 1,000 students in grades Pre-K through 8th were surprised with wrapped presents at both Perkins Bass Elementary + Corkery Elementary. Faculty & staff were also treated with gifts and a surprise holiday luncheon. This event would not have been possible without the help of our generous Daisie Partners and event sponsors, including Chicago Woman Magazine, Banana Republic, Sonya Martin Photography, Lifeway Foods, Windsor’s Lift Body Center, Penske, and more.

The Daisie Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and through our annual Holiday Outreach Initiative, we strive to continue the legacy of the late Daisie Robinson, who was known throughout her community for performing random acts of kindness during the holiday season, from providing gifts to neighborhood children to helping families make ends meet. And through our continued efforts, we’ve been able to make a small yet significant difference in the lives of students who yearn for a bit of holiday magic during the cold winter months.

We’d love to have you involved next year, either through our annual Gift Wrapping Party or by participating in the event itself. To volunteer or become a Daisie Partner and join our 2019 efforts, contact us.
