Get Your Derby Hats Ready for Our Leading Ladies Luncheon

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – CHICAGO, IL – On Saturday, April 28, 2018, the W Chicago – City Center will welcome leading ladies from throughout Chicago to the Daisie Foundation’s annual Kentucky Derby themed luncheon. This event will begin at 11 am with a VIP Discussion Panel, moderated by the founder of Chicago Woman Magazine – Kendra Chaplin. The panel will include distinguished Leading Lady honorees, who will be receiving awards later in the day for their dedication to empowering women: Diana Palomar, Vice President of Community Affairs for ABC 7 Chicago; Lillian Lazu, Principal of Little Village Academy; Dr. Jessica Shepherd, an OB/GYN and found of Her Viewpoint; and Katlin Smith, CEO of Simple Mills.

At 12:30pm, the luncheon will begin. Dr. Nita Landry, co-host of the Emmy-award winning talk show The Doctors, will serve as emcee, while Dara Levy, the founder of DERMAFLASH, will serve as keynote speaker. Afterwards, Tanja Babich, anchor of ABC 7 Chicago Eyewitness News in the Morning, will host the fashion show, which will highlight this year’s spring styles and trends.

In addition to the awards being given to the Leading Lady honorees, the Daisie Foundation will also present Corporate Partner Awards to Lifeway Foods, a producer of a wide range of kefir products, and Windsor’s Lift Body Center, which offers body contouring and rejuvenation procedures enhanced by a highly customized approach. All proceeds from this event will benefit an upcoming Mother’s Day Makeover event to be held on May 7, 2018, when the Daisie Foundation will give 250 moms a much-deserved day of pampering at the W Chicago – Lakeshore with the help of local stylists, makeup artists, and fashion experts.
