Random Acts of Kindness
Chicago Housing Authority Event
2021 Initiative
The Daisie Foundation partnered with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) on January 29 to co-host its first “2021 Random Acts of Kindness” event to distribute new clothes, outerwear, accessories, and shoes to 150 CHA residents. CHA’s nonprofit partner, Springboard for Success distributed these items, which were generously donated by our partners, The Gap Foundation and Banana Republic.
The Daisie Foundation and the CHA share a commitment to investing in families to help them thrive and prepare for long-term economic success through services and donations. This year’s event provided residents, which included college students and CHA’s workforce program participants, access to high-quality clothing and accessories at a convenient, familiar location. Each resident, while adhering to COVID-19 safety procedures, was invited to shop for items displayed on 15 garment racks in CHA’s Charles Hayes Center’s Multi-Purpose Room. The Daisie Foundation and CHA volunteers also assisted the residents in selecting the perfect attire for job interviews, making the experience even more special for participants. Always thinking about creating a joyful experience, the Daisie Foundation invited DJ Stack, whose amazing music was enjoyed by residents of all ages—resulting in a fun-filled shopping environment.
The Daisie Foundation is grateful for its partners – Banana Republic, Gap Foundation, Springboard for Success, and the Chicago Housing Authority for their support in making this event a huge success, spreading joy to 150 residents.
