Bringing Holiday Magic to Life for Deserving Chicago Students

The Daisie Foundation partners with Meijer at their annual Holiday Magic event to surprise students in the southside’s Greater Grand Crossing area.

The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2017, DF has dedicated their time to Chicago, Milwaukee, and recently Houston neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and ultimately love to get through each and every day. This holiday season, DF is teaming up with Meijer and a host of other sponsors to carry out their 5th annual Holiday Magic event at Tanner Elementary on Chicago’s south side on December 15th, 2021. The event will consist of surprising the students with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, gift giving with help from the elves, a holiday dance party, and lunch for all 400 students provided by Panera. This week alone, DF and Meijer will surprise 1,000 children throughout Chicago and Milwaukee.

Prior to this week, DF surprised 200 first responders in Chicago and Houston through their Sprinkles of Joy initiative, rooted in random acts of kindness. This included a warm breakfast, gifts from Tiebar and Shiraleah, and special treats from Lifeway Foods. Due to COVID-19 in 2020, DF had not been able to throw their annual Holiday Magic event, and therefore are thrilled to be back this year.
