Daisie Foundation to Surprise Healthcare Moms Throughout Milwaukee in Honor of Mother’s Day

300 mothers will receive a Mother’s Day Surprise!

The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2016, DF has dedicated their time to Milwaukee, Houston, and Chicago neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and love to better get through each and every day. This Mother’s Day, as part of the Foundation’s Random Acts of Kindness Initiative, DF is partnering with Cousins Subs on Monday, May 6th, 2024, to honor and surprise 300 deserving moms of Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital-Milwaukee Campus and Sojourner Family Peace Center.

“Although we formally celebrate mothers once a year, moms deserve more than a day of celebration,” Dan Wright, Chief Nursing officer, Ascension Columbia Saint Mary’s Hospital-Milwaukee Campus and Ascension Wisconsin Nurse Executive Council Chair said. “Let’s challenge ourselves daily to show our appreciation for how they have shaped the world. To all the moms at Ascension, we thank you for all you do, and for teaching us what humanity is all about: heart, love, and sacrifice. We thank you, we see you, we love you. Happy Mother’s Day…every day.”

Daisie Foundation is proud to celebrate those who put others’ needs before their own. In addition to Cousins Subs providing lunch, the incredible moms will receive special gifts from Benefit Cosmetics, Meijer, Kraft Foods, Wantable, and Shiraleah just in time for Mother’s Day.

The surprises will take place at two locations: Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital-Milwaukee Campus and Sojourner Family Peace Center (see schedule below).

In addition to Milwaukee, DF will surprise mothers throughout Houston and Chicago this week, for a total of 1000 moms.

“Staying true to our purpose to spread joy, we aim to make this a special day for first responders and mothers, all of whom make sacrifices for work, their families, and their communities,” says Daisie Foundation Executive Board President Julie Hightower.
