300 mothers will receive a Mother’s Day Surprise
The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2016, DF has dedicated their time to Houston, Chicago, and Milwaukee neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and love to get through each and every day. This Mother’s Day, as part of the Foundation’s Random Acts of Kindness Initiative, DF is partnering with Raising Canes on Friday, May 10th, 2024 to honor and surprise 300 deserving healthcare responder mothers of Harris Health Gulfgate Health Center, Harris Health Strawberry Health Center, as well as mothers of Santa Maria Hostel.
“We are thrilled to partner with DF once again this year to honor our dedicated nursing and support staff at Harris Health,” Jennifer Buck, Program Manager of Community Involvement at Harris Health says. “Our team consistently goes above and beyond for our patients and community, making this recognition incredibly meaningful to them. Surprising our staff with tokens of appreciation and love, especially as Mother’s Day approaches, adds an extra layer of joy to their hard work. The Daisie Foundation has been a steadfast and generous supporter of Harris Health over the years, and we are deeply grateful for their continued support.”
Daisie Foundation is proud to celebrate those who put others’ needs before their own. In addition to Raising Canes providing lunch for the moms, the incredible moms will receive special gifts from Benefit Cosmetics, Kroger, AbbVie, Shiraleah, and Reliant just in time for
Mother’s Day.
The surprises will take place at three different locations, including Harris Health Gulfgate Health Center, Harris Health Strawberry Health Center, and Santa Maria Hostel (see schedule below).
In addition to Houston, DF has surprised mothers throughout Milwaukee and Chicago this week, for a total of 1000 mothers.
“Staying true to our purpose to spread joy, we aim to make this a special day for first responders and mothers, all of whom make sacrifices for work, their families, and their communities,” says Daisie Foundation Executive Board President Julie Hightower.
