This Mother’s Day, the Daisie Foundation surprised more than 200 first responder moms across Houston through our Random Acts of Kindness Initiative. The Foundation partnered with Harris Health Systems and a host of other generous sponsors to provide moms at Houston hospitals with food, gifts, and fun to celebrate the strength and resilience of mothers that have put so much on the line over the course of the pandemic.
The celebrations kicked off with a surprise breakfast at Harris Health’s Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, where moms on staff were treated to a luxurious feast provided by the McDonald’s Smith Organization. In addition to the meals, our team distributed handmade Mother’s Day gifts by Shiraleah. The celebrations continued at nearby Ben Taub Hospital, where we again distributed free meals and gifts to the brave moms on staff.
The Daisie Foundation’s mission is to provide a space for women to fill their cups, and to better themselves inside and out. By surprising Houston first responder moms, we hope to honor the sacrifices that they have made during the course of the pandemic, and to give them the time and space for joy.
