Mother’s Day Initiative Event in Houston, 2025

In Houston, the Daisie Foundation’s Mother’s Day Week outreach centered on honoring women who give so much of themselves to others—whether at work, at home, or in recovery. Our goal was simple: create meaningful impact through thoughtful gestures and recognition.

We began at the Harris Health Smith Clinic, where we celebrated Nurses Week and Mother’s Day by honoring the nurses and staff with a special lunch and gifts. These women are often the first to care for others and the last to care for themselves. Our visit was a small way to remind them that their efforts—and their presence—matter.

Next, we visited the Santa Maria Hostel, one of the state’s longest-running recovery programs for women and children. There, we surprised the moms with gift bags filled with self-care items, toiletries, and uplifting essentials that offered dignity and a moment of brightness. The interaction was quiet, personal, and powerful.

This outreach was about more than giving—it was about restoring. We focused on reminding each woman that she is not forgotten and that small acts of kindness can leave a deep and lasting impact.

Through these moments, the Daisie Foundation continues to extend its reach in Houston by creating intentional opportunities for support, reflection, and joy. Whether through a lunch, a gift, or a word of affirmation, we remain committed to meeting women with empathy, purpose, and heart.
