Langston Hughes Elementary was honored with a Holiday Magic Experience that brought celebration, surprise, and joy to 500 students and 100 teachers and staff. The day was filled with unforgettable moments that reflected the true spirit of the season and created a powerful sense of community and care.
Students were greeted by Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Grinch, elves, helpers, and special guests, receiving cheers, high-fives, and dancing as they entered the celebration. The energy of a holiday-themed dance party carried through the entire experience, keeping spirits high from beginning to end. During the program, students were surprised with multiple gifts, and teachers and staff were also recognized with thoughtful gifts in appreciation of their ongoing commitment.
The program was co-emceed by ABC 7 Chicago anchor Jasmine Minor and former Chicago Bears player and FOX TV host Anthony “Spice” Adams, who helped lead the celebration with energy and heart. Special guests included actor Corey Hendrix from the hit show The Chi, the UIC Women’s Basketball Team, and UIC’s mascot Sparky, all of whom added excitement, pride, and inspiration to the day.
Lunch was provided for the entire school, offering a shared moment of celebration for both students and educators.
With the support of generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and community partners, the Holiday Magic Experience at Langston Hughes Elementary created lasting memories and reminded every student and staff member that they are valued, celebrated, and deeply supported.
