This holiday season, the Daisie Foundation (DF) teamed up with the Houston Police Department (HPD) and the Greater Houston Police Activities League (GHPAL) to host the 4th annual Holiday Magic Experience at Betsy Ross Elementary School in Houston. On December 6th, 2024, this heartwarming event brought joy and holiday cheer to 400 deserving students and their teachers.
The celebration featured visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Grinch, and their cheerful elves, who surprised students with gifts and festive fun. The event was complete with a holiday-themed dance party, bringing everyone together in the spirit of the season. A special luncheon was also provided, making the day even more memorable for students and staff alike.
Since its launch, the Holiday Magic Experience has impacted over 13,000 students across 24 schools, leaving a lasting impression on communities in need. Shanica Smith Mitchell of Ethel M. Young Elementary shared her reflections on last year’s event: “The students we serve do not always have the best memories of holiday breaks or times during a season of giving or receiving. Your commitment to the holiday magic spirit is inspiring, and it’s clear that your team’s passion and hard work are making the world a better place.”
This year’s event was made possible by the incredible support of sponsors including Reliant, Kroger, Shiraleah, Benefit Cosmetics, AbbVie, Raising Cane’s, Houston Police Credit Union, Visible Changes, Houston Astros, Panera Bread, Gatlin’s Fin and Feathers, Gatlin’s BBQ, Domino’s, and Blossom Hotel. A special thank you to Len Cannon, KHOU 11 News Anchor and Chelsea Edwards, FOX 26 Anchor and Host of Chattin with Chelsea for emceeing this magical event. Together, DF, HPD, and GHPAL are spreading kindness, building connections, and making a difference, one school and one child at a time. Thank you for supporting the Daisie Foundation and helping us create unforgettable moments!
