The Daisie Foundation’s Holiday Magic Experience at Leland Elementary School on Chicago’s West Side in the Austin community transformed an ordinary school day into an unforgettable celebration. Students arrived expecting a typical school assembly and instead were welcomed into an auditorium transformed into a winter wonderland. The experience featured a DJ, gifts for students, a surprise school-wide lunch from Panera, special guests, beloved mascots, and the magic of Mrs. Claus, elves, and the Grinch—creating a joyful, high-energy celebration for the entire school. For nine months, the principal protected every detail of this day, keeping the surprise intact until students and staff stepped into a celebration created just for them. Teachers and staff were intentionally recognized and celebrated, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and appreciated during the holiday season. When others may not remember schools during the holidays, the Daisie Foundation and its partners show up with purpose and heart—creating life-changing memories and lasting impact for school communities.
