Daisie Foundation Gifts Holiday Magic to Students on Milwaukee ABC

The Daisie Foundation partnered with Meijer at their annual Holiday Magic event to surprise southside students.

The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2017, DF has dedicated their time to Milwaukee, Chicago, and recently Houston neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and ultimately love to get through each and every day. This holiday season, DF teamed up with Meijer and a host of other sponsors to carry out their 5th annual Holiday Magic event at Alexander Mitchell Integrated Arts School on December 17th, 2021. The event consisted of surprising the students with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, gift giving with help from the elves, and a holiday dance party.

This year, the Milwaukee Brewers Foundation surprised the students with the locally known and loved Racing Sausages, who regularly put on a show for Brewers fans during the 6th inning. The week before Christmas, DF and Meijer surprised 1,200 children throughout Milwaukee and Chicago. Prior to this week, DF surprised 200 first responders in Chicago and Houston through their Sprinkles of Joy event, rooted in random acts of kindness. This includes a warm breakfast, gifts from Tiebar and Shiraleah, and special treats from Lifeway Foods.

“The Daisie Foundation is honored to spread holiday spirit to the most deserving schools and first responders in Chicago, Houston, and Milwaukee. Despite the challenges with the pandemic, we feel even more empowered to spread kindness and be a light in the community, especially during a time that’s supposed to be joyful,” said Julie Hightower, a Daisie Foundation board member.

Sponsors for this year’s event include Meijer, Milwaukee Brewers Foundation, Wantable, Ian’s Pizza, Tiebar, Lifeway Foods, ComEd, Shiraleah, Chicago Liposuction by Lift Body Center, McDonalds Smith Organization, Dominos Pizza, White Sox, Houston Police Department/Greater Houston Pal, Chick-Fil-A Midway, Chick-Fil-A Crestwood, Chick-Fil-A Southloop, Penske Truck Rental, Women’s Bar Association of IL, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Panera Bread, A&K Bakery, Be Connect Houston, and Albemarie.
