300 Nurses and Caregivers Honored with Surprises and Celebration
This Nurse’s Week, the Daisie Foundation (DF) is set to bring joy to some of Houston’s most selfless and dedicated individuals—the hardworking healthcare responders and nurses of Harris Health. Since its founding in 2016, DF has dedicated their time to Houston, Milwaukee, and Chicago communities that need support, guidance, and love to better get through each and every day. As part of its renowned Random Acts of Kindness Initiative, the foundation is teaming up with Raising Canes, Reliant, Benefit Cosmetics, Shiraleah, and Kroger on May 9th, 2025, to deliver the caregivers heartfelt appreciation, surprises, and much-deserved recognition. This week alone, DF is providing over 1000 random acts of kindness in Houston, Milwaukee, and Chicago.
Daisie Foundation is proud to celebrate those who put others’ needs before their own. In addition to Raising Canes providing lunch, the nurses and healthcare responders will receive special gifts from Shiraleah, celebrating their strength, service, and dedication.
Here’s what one nurse had to say about last year’s event: “It really shows how much you appreciate the work we do here with our patients. We love our job and we do it every day. We take care of each and every one of our patients. Thank you for making us feel special today and every day.” Julie Hightower, Executive Board President of the Daisie Foundation says, “Through this initiative, we hope to bring joy, appreciation, and a reminder that they are valued and loved.”
The day will feature a stop filled with gratitude and celebration at Harris Health Smith Clinic (see schedule below).
For over eight years, DF has spread joy through random acts of kindness, uplifting over 4,700 mothers and 13,300 students across Houston, Chicago, and Milwaukee.
