Bringing Holiday Magic to Life for Deserving Chicago Students with Chicago’s Meijer

The Daisie Foundation partners with Meijer at their annual Holiday Magic event to surprise students in the Southside’s Greater Grand Crossing area

CHICAGO, IL — The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2016, DF has dedicated their time to Chicago, Milwaukee, and Houston neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and ultimately love to get through each and every day. This holiday season, DF is teaming up with Meijer and a host of other sponsors to carry out their 6th annual Holiday Magic event at Deneen Elementary School on Chicago’s south side on December 14th, 2022. The event will consist of surprising the students with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, gift giving with help from the elves, a holiday dance party, and lunch for all 500 students and 100 teachers and staff provided by Panera. This week alone, DF and Meijer will surprise 1,000 children throughout Chicago and Milwaukee.

“The Daisie Foundation is honored to spread holiday spirit to the most deserving schools in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Houston. Despite the challenges with the pandemic, we feel even more empowered to spread kindness and be a light in the community, especially during a time that’s supposed to be joyful,” said Julie Hightower, a Daisie Foundation board member.

Sponsors for this year’s event include, Meijer, ComEd, Shiraleah, Chicago Liposuction by Lift Body Center, Lifeway Foods, Molina Healthcare, Benefit Cosmetics, Women’s Bar Association of IL, Penske Truck Rental, ROW 24, Abbvie, Daisie Project, Raising Canes, and Art of Imagination.
