In honor of Mother’s Day, 200 will receive lunch and special gifts
The Daisie Foundation (DF) exists to empower women and children in underserved communities. Since its founding in 2017, DF has dedicated their time to Milwaukee, Chicago, and Houston neighborhoods that need support, guidance, and ultimately love to get through each and every day. This Mother’s Day, as part of the foundation’s Random Acts of Kindness initiative, DF will surprise 200 first responder mothers in the Milwaukee area. In light of the strength of mothers and all that first responders have faced throughout the pandemic, the Daisie Foundation is proud to celebrate those who put others’ needs before their own.
Taking place at three different locations, the day will begin at Progressive Community Health Center, and will follow at two clinics within the Milwaukee Health Services network (see full schedule below). First responder recipients will receive lunch from Milwaukee’s beloved Ian’s Pizza,, custom Mother’s Day gifts from Shiraleah, flowers from Meijer, and special gifts from the Milwaukee Brewers. The Daisie Foundation will also repeat these efforts in Chicago and Houston, honoring a total of 500 mothers this week alone.
“Staying true to our purpose to spread joy, we aim to make this a special day for first responders and mothers, all of whom make sacrifices for work, their families, and their communities,” says Daisie Foundation Executive Board President, Julie Hightower.

- 12:15-12:45 p.m.: Surprise First Responder Moms at MLK Heritage Health Center (2555 N. Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53212)
- 1:05-1:35 p.m.: Surprise First Responder Moms at Issac Coggs Heritage Health Center (8200 W. Silver Spring Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53218)
