Daisie Foundation hosts outreach for Mother’s Day 2021 in Chicago

The Daisie Foundation to Surprise 200 Mothers and 300 First Responders in Greater Chicago

Foundation’s “random acts of kindness” initiative to take place week leading up to Mother’s Day

The Daisie Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing ongoing opportunities for under-resourced communities, will honor mothers and first responders in Greater Chicago through its “Meals for Moms” and “Random Acts of Kindness” programs on May 4 and 5. To further solidify their investment in the Chicago community, the Daisie Foundation will pop-up with gifts and catered meals at several locations during the two day period in partnership with Raising Cane’s, Shiraleah, Sephora and Benefit Cosmetics. This outreach is just one of several events organized through the foundation’s annual Mother’s Day Initiative that focuses on spreading joy and providing resources to deserving mothers who reside or work in areas most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. See schedule of activities below.

“Keeping true to our purpose to spread joy, we aim to make this a special day for first responders and mothers, all of whom make sacrifices for work, families and their communities,” said Daisie Foundation board member Julie Hightower. As a national organization established in 2017 to empower women and children in under-resourced communities, we are proud to support Greater Chicago; adding to the 15,000+ random acts of kindness our foundation has provided since its inception.

Through the generous donations of our partners – Raising Cane’s, Shiraleah, Sephora and Benefits Cosmetics – mothers and first responders will be surprised with free, catered meals and gift bags delivered by Daisie volunteers. Proper social distancing and mask guidelines will be followed. Guaranteed to bring a smile, laughter, and maybe a tear from mothers and first responders who deserve, but often do not expect special recognition through a simple act of kindness, the Daisie Foundation and its partners promise a fun-filled, meaningful give-back day to honor Mother’s Day.
